Portraiture

I make portraits of everything I love, and I love to see the beauty in everything. In this sense, portraiture is to be understood as an intense encounter in the moment and a close look. Without judgement and ideals.

It's my interest in the subtleties and relationships of human nature that keeps tempting me to do portraits again and again.

For me, the goal is to create a truthful portrait of a person. The physical resemblance (which no photograph can achieve) is in a way an added bonus.

It is a shared experience that gives rise to the painting or drawing.

I look for the elements that complement each other to create a coherent, true whole.
